The owners of Durham, N.C. whole hog BBQ joint PICNIC are teaming up with Green Button Farms to host the inaugural North Carolina Barbecue Revival.
Attendees will be in for a jam-packed three-day weekend. The revival will feature classes, discussions, feasts and more. Events will be led by some of the most prestigious pitmasters, chefs and BBQ experts around.
All Barbecue Revival events will be held at Green Button Farms in Bahama, N.C., located about 30 minutes north of Durham.
The 3-day weekend will begin on Friday, Oct. 28 with “High on the Hog.” Guests will enjoy a 5-course private dinner prepared by chefs Justin Burdett and Ben Adams. Champagne pairings will also be on hand by sommelier Inez Ribustello.
On Saturday, Chef Steve Goff will lead a whole hog butchery class. There will also be a pie baking class, a bourbon tasting and farm walk before the night ends with an oyster roast and progressive farm dinner.
Sunday guests will start the day under the big top tent for BBQ church before heading on over to the final event, a community pig pickin’. PICNIC owners Wyatt Dickson, Sam Jones and Elliot Moss host the farewell event. They’ll be bringing in chefs from around North Carolina to serve festive dishes and mouthwatering desserts. Guests will enjoy bluegrass music, hay rides and more before the inaugural revival culminates late in the afternoon.
