It’s almost summer, which means its time to get your outdoor patio ready for grilling season. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend but want to enjoy all the joys of barbecue season, there might be an easier way.
If you have some time to spend and don’t mind spending some time with your tools, you can create an awesome barbecue grill from an old discarded oil drum. After you collect all the pieces you’ll need for the project, you’ll need to spend a good amount of time cutting the drum in half. Once you’ve done that and sanded down the edges, you’ll need to weld the rest of it together. If you’ve never welded before, you’ll probably want to recruit a friend, but don’t be afraid to try it out yourself down the road.
After you’ve got your oil drum nice and neat, you’ll simply need to add the legs and support. You can either leave it in its original state or coat it with a heat-resistant spray paint to make it look professional. It’s a great weekend project that results in something you’ll use with pride.
