Brett Eldredge made a surprising announcement during his recent stop at Late Night With Seth Meyers.
After he performed his hit single, “Lose My Mind,” for the first time on television, he revealed his plans to release a new album later this year. His sophomore album, Illinois, will be released through Atlantic Records on Sept. 11. No other details were revealed by the Paris, IL native, but he had a big smile on his face when he made the surprise announcement on-air.
Illinois will be the follow-up to his incredibly successful debut album, Bring You Back, which was released in 2013. Eldredge has had three number one hits with “Beat of the Music,” “Don’t Ya,” and “Mean to Me,” which are all featured on his first release.
“Lose My Mind” was released earlier this May and is steadily climbing up the country charts. The song has a polished sound that’s more often found in pop releases, but stays country with the help of Eldredge’s twang and punchy, foot-stomping rhythm.
Eldredge will continue to perform his hits on the road with a steady stream of tour dates planned across the country through the end of September. You can find the full list of dates at his official website.
