Brad Paisley makes good on a promise to jam with a young fan who can shred like nobody’s business.
The 21-year-old guitarist is named Dale Baum and goes by the stage name Blaze. He has played guitar since he was 12 years old, but wasn’t really a country music fan until he happened to hear Brad Paisley on the radio.
He told reporters, “Amazing guitar playing blows my mind. I found out later [the artist on the radio] was Brad Paisley. That’s what brought me to country music. I really appreciate great musical skills.”
Baum was so blown away, he decided he wanted to someday jam with Paisley. He wrote a song called “Brad Paisley,” telling the country superstar eh would do anything play some songs with him. He then created a video for the song and posted it on YouTube, hoping to grab Paisley’s attention.
It worked. Paisley tweeted the YouTube video and said, “Speechless. Obviously, a lot of work went into this. & yessir, I will jam with you. My local @guitarcenter or yours?”
Instead of meeting up at Guitar Center, Paisley invited Baum on stage at his show in Colorado Springs on March 5. They performed a couple of Paisley’s hits, as well as songs by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Walsh.
I don’t think this is the last we’ll see of Blaze!
