Country superstar Blake Shelton is giving back to fans with a new live EP available to stream beginning on Aug. 25.
Shelton went straight to his fans with the news, posting on Facebook and other social media. "My favorite thing in the world is playing live for y'all," Shelton says in the post. "We've got six LIVE songs from our surprise set at CMA Fest!"
Shelton played a "pop up" show at Nashville's CMA Fest earlier this year. The EP features songs from throughout his career, including "Ol' Red" (which he's naming a new bar after) from his debut album. It also features "A Guy With A Girl," a No. 1 single off his most recent album If I'm Honest.
Other tunes on the EP include "Honey Bee," "All About Tonight," "Home" and "Boys 'Round Here." In other words, a fairly diverse set of tunes for only six songs from the past 16 years. And bare in mind, Shelton just notched his 24th No. 1 single with "Every Time I Hear That Song."
The news is certainly welcome for Blake Shelton fans. He recently hinted that he may be eyeing retirement from new music. Shelton also seems a bit "MIA" at some of the recent country award shows. But that hasn't stopped If I'm Honest from selling more than 600,000 copies and producing several No. 1 singles.
And it's not like he doesn't already have serious hardware. Shelton is a five-time CMA Entertainer Of The Year and a five-time Male Vocalist Of The Year. He also wins plenty of hearts on primetime television as a coach on NBC's hit reality singing show The Voice.
Fans can stream the live album through all streaming outlets on Aug. 25.
