Ever heard of John Fullbright? If not, you’ll hear his name plenty of times soon enough. This artist to watch just delivered a soulful performance of his piano ballad “When You’re Here” and stunned the crowd at The MusicFest in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It’s the second tune off his second record, 2014’s Songs.
Fullbright is an Oklahoma native who shared stints in both the Mike McClure Band and Turnpike Troubadours before turning to his solo career. He was promptly rewarded with a Best Americana Album GRAMMY nomination for his debut album From The Ground Up in 2012.
The MusicFest is a six-day music and skiing party in Colorado featuring some of the best that Texas country and Americana have to offer. The eclectic setting features several different stages, including intimate settings that allow for artists and fans to interact closely. It’s not uncommon to see big artists having song swaps in hotel lobbies.
And you get to see incredible performances like Fullbright’s. Keep an eye out for him and catch him playing select dates through the United States.
