American Idol's Top 5 Goes Completely Carrie Underwood

In 2005, Carrie Underwood won American Idol, starting off her career as a country-pop goddess. Recently, Underwood stepped back into the Idol spotlight by mentoring the Top 5 contestants and providing them with some of her hit songs to sing.

In a short clip showing Underwood meeting with the contestants and giving them musical advice as only a true American Idol could, it's clear that the Top 5 are telling the truth when they say she's warm and wonderful to be around. Underwood met with each singer at the famed Bluebird Café where surely some of the spirit of Nashville country music seeped into them before they performed Underwood's hits in front of a live audience in Los Angeles.

Contestant Gabby Barrett took on "Last Name" by blistering through the performance with a sense of fun. Barrett already turned heads earlier this season when she performed another country track, Miranda Lambert's "Little Red Wagon."

On the same night, Caleb Lee Hutchinson sang "So Small." He looked a bit nervous, but it also appeared that he really connected with the song. Lionel Richie even commented on his autheticity.

At the end of the show, viewers learned that Barrett, Hutchinson and Maddie Poppe (who sang "I Told You So") will continue on the competition while Cade Foehner and Michael J. Woodard were sent home. Thankfully, they will always have the special moments in Nashville with Carrie Underwood to hold on to.
