The milestone marks his fourteenth album to debut at number one during its first week of release. His album also hit number three on the Billboard Top 200 chart, with 47,881 total copies sold. Angels and Alcohol is the country superstar’s first new studio release in three years, and features seven tracks written by Jackson himself. It was produced by longtime friend and creative partner Keith Stegall, who has produced almost all of Jackson’s albums since his 1990 debut, Here in the Real World.
The album includes Jackson’s current single, “Jim and Jack and Hank.” The cleverly-written track about getting through a rough breakup with the help of his “friends” features the traditional, old-school country sound that Jackson has stuck with throughout his long and esteemed career.
Jackson is wrapping up his Keepin’ It Country Tour this summer, which is a live showcase of his career hits from the past 25 years. A full list of tour dates are available at his official website.
