Alan Jackson takes a trip down memory lane in his new lyric video for “You Can Always Come Home”.
The sentimental video features a woman unpacking and hanging up photos of the Jackson family. “You never be alone, in your heart there’s still a place, no matter how right or wrong you’ve gone, you can always come home,” Jackson sings as viewers see shots of Jackson with his wife Denise and their children Mattie, Ali and Dani.
“Ali, my middle daughter, moved out to California last fall and that’s when I wrote it,” Jackson told Parade of his new single. “It reminded me of when I moved to Nashville and didn’t know anybody. I’d call my folks at home. My mama and daddy were supportive even though they were worried about me coming up here. My daddy said, ‘You can always come home. If it doesn’t work out, you can always come home.’ I’ve always remembered that.”
“You Can Always Come Home” is featured on Jackson’s twentieth studio album, Angels and Alcohol. Jackson is currently taking a break from touring and will spend the remainder of 2015 at home with his family.
