May 4 is the great Randy Travis‘ birthday! He’s just one of several country legends with a birthday this month. Let’s celebrate the country icon’s 57th birthday by taking a stroll down memory lane and remembering some of his greatest live performances.

“Forever and Ever Amen” live at the Grand Ole Opry

 

Travis performed his hit song live at the Opry for his 25th Anniversary show. “Forever and Ever, Amen” was released in March 1987 and was Travis’ third No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts. It also won a Grammy that year for Best Country & Western Song.

“I Told You So” live on Dolly Show

 

Here’s an amazing throwback video of Travis singing “I Told You So,” one of his most memorable songs ever. The song was released off of the album Always & Forever It was yet another song that hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country charts.

“Deeper Than the Holler” live at the George H.W. Bush Inaugural Gala 

 

Another video from Travis in the late 1980s, he performed “Deeper Than the Holler” at Bush’s Inauguration Gala. The track was a single off of his album, Old 8×10The love song may not have reached No. 1 on any charts, but it’s still adored by Travis fans even today.

Does it get any better than this? Randy Travis singing this classic gospel song is one of his most beautiful performances ever. He does the song major justice. We could listen to this on repeat all day long.

“Diggin’ Up Bones” live on The Marty Stuart Show

 

This is one of Travis’ greatest song. Released in 1986, “Diggin’ Up Bones” was his third single off of his Storms of Life album. It was a No. 1 hit in both the U.S. and Canada.

Also required watching today: His performance of “A Few Ole Country Boys” with George Jones and him recently stepping out on stage with Blake Shelton and receiving great applause from fans.
