5 Things You Shouldn’t Miss at CMA Music Fest 2015

Are you one of the thousands of country fans flocking to Nashville for this year’s CMA Music Festival? Here are five events that are happening this weekend that you’ll want to be a part of.

CMT Music Awards

The star-studded event at Bridgestone Arena unofficially kicks off the festival. If you didn’t get a ticket, grab a spot early and watch the award show on television from one of the bars across the street on Broadway. Wide Open Country will have a full report of the awards show.

Fan Fair X

Seize the opportunity to impress your friends with a photo from when you met your favorite country star at Fan Fair X. Fans can get a day-pass for only $10, which makes it one of the most affordable attractions in downtown Nashville during the festival weekend. Bonus: It’s air-conditioned!

25th Annual City Of Hope Celebrity Softball Game

You can watch some of your favorite country stars play (or at least, attempt to play) a ballgame for a good cause. At this year’s City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game, Vince Gill, Chuck Wicks, JT Hodges and Charles Esten are just a few of the stars that will battle it out on the field.

Chevrolet Riverfront Concerts

You can see some of country’s biggest names and great up-and-comers play the Riverfront stage, just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Broadway. All shows at this stage are free, and it’s a great place to take a time-out on the grass during the hot Nashville afternoons.

Grand Ole Opry

If you don’t mind taking a 20-minute drive from downtown, you can participate in the Grand Ole Opry‘s ever-growing CMA Music Fest celebrations. With a few free outdoor concerts, lots of autograph signings and big headliners at the Opry shows at night, there’s plenty to do and see here.
