There are a few immortal debates in the United States, and the most serious one is which state’s barbecue reigns supreme. From Tennessee to Texas, these pairs undertake a BBQ taste test with five different barbecues and take a final vote.
To start, they all test Memphis style ribs from Tennessee, and most aren’t too impressed. One man, who tells us his wife is from Texas, thinks they’re great, which basically means his wife’s barbecue taste hasn’t rubbed off on him yet.
South Carolina’s pulled pork in mustard sauce seemed to be everyone’s least favorite choice because it was a little too mustard-y. North Carolina’s pulled pork in vinegar sauce had a similar reaction, but the testers who loved vinegar were all about it.
They all declared Texas’ brisket to be perfect. In fact, one tester even drops her fork and deems it the winner. So what happens when they try Missouri’s burnt ends in Kansas City sauce?
That’s right, Texas, we got beat out by the KC burnt ends. Keep in mind that these guys know nothing about barbecue. One tester even admitted his expertise goes as far as Chili’s baby back ribs, if that makes you feel better.
It’s okay, we know who the real winner is. Watch their reactions and the taste test below.
