A house designer who loves living simplistically has created one of the most stylish and cozy tiny homes in America.

After months of planning, Vina Lustado completed work on her dream home for the cost of just $40,000.

Located on a pleasant 1-acre lot in Ojai, Calif., Lustado’s 140-square-foot getaway combines all of the efficiency of simple living with the style and comfort of the great outdoors.

Once you step through the front door, you’re greeted by what Lustado lovingly calls “The Great Room.” The multi-functional space acts as an office, living room, dining area and guest bedroom. Smart storage solutions like deep cabinets and wheeled tables help keep the space from feeling cluttered.

Lustado says her tiny kitchen is actually the largest she’s ever had. Lots of counter space and cabinetry hide her utensils and ingredients from view, making it seem more spacious than it really is.

Lustado’s loft area takes up half the length of the tiny house, allowing her room for a queen-sized bed. The home’s huge skylights also give her a beautiful view of the stars at night.

Although many people are using tiny homes as a temporary housing solution, Lustado says she plans to live in this home for the rest of her life.

“It’s not temporary. I’m never leaving,” she recently told Houzz. “I’ve never entertained as much as I have since I built my tiny house.”
