2015 looks to be an exciting year for new country albums. Here are the 10 of the most highly anticipated.
In 2014, Maddie and Tae’s “Girl In A Country Song” made a statement about bro country and shook up the country music world. As country radio shifts away from the bro songs in 2015, we have some great females on the horizon, new bands and albums from our favorite superstars that will be released. Here are the 10 most anticipated albums of 2015.
10. Luke Bryan
For the past six years, Luke Bryan’s been releasing EPs and throwing free concerts during spring break in Panama City. Bryan’s seventh and final spring break EP, titled Luke Bryan: Spring Break…Checkin’ Out – set for release on March 10 – will include five new songs from his upcoming album. A new single is expected sometime before the ACM Awards, which Bryan will host.
9. Maddie and Tae
Maddie and Tae released their self-titled EP November 14, 2014. The duo previously stated they’ve been actively writing and their debut full-length album would be released Spring of 2015. After the buzz of their number one single “Girl In A Country Song,” fans are eagerly awaiting their debut album.
8. Striking Matches – Nothing But the Silence
The duo Striking Matches garnered attention when two of their songs were featured on ABC’s hit show “Nashville.” Their debut album Nothing But the Silence is set for release March 24, but available for pre-order on iTunes.
7. A Thousand Horses – Southernality
A Thousand Horses was recently signed to Big Machine Label Group. Their single “Smoke” is currently on country radio and their album Southernality will be released June 9 of this year.
6. Mickey Guyton
American Idol season seven alum and Capitol Records recording artist, Mickey Guyton, released her debut single “Better Than You Left Me” in December of 2014. Her debut album be released later this year.
In 2014, RaeLynn had the highest charting debut single of a country solo female with her song “God Made Girls.” She kicked off the new year with the release of her EP on January 13. As an opening act for Miranda Lambert, she’s reaching new audiences who are excited to hear her full-length record later this year.
4. Reba MbEntire – Love Somebody
Reba’s new album Love Somebody will be released April 14. She was the first artist to be signed to the new label Nash Icon, a joint venture between Big Machine Label Group and Cumulus Radio. Fans are excited to hear more new music after her first single off the album, “Going Out Like That.”
3. Kelsea Ballerini – The First Time
Kelsea Ballerini’s debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It” is currently climbing country radio charts. Her debut self-titled EP was released November 24, 2014. At Ballerini’s Grand Ole Opry debut on Valentine’s Day, she announced her debut album “The First Time” will be released May 19.
2. Brett Eldredge
Brett Eldredge’s debut album “Bring You Back” was released on August 6, 2013 by Atlantic Nashville. He’s become one of the most popular men in country music after two number ones and his current single “Mean To Me” climbing up the charts. Although a release date has not been set for his second album, his sophomore release is highly anticipated.
1. Chris Stapleton – Traveller
Chris Stapleton tops the list because he’s been writing our favorite country songs for years. With Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan and George Strait cuts, he’s known as one of Nashville’s best songwriters. The world will be introduced to a new collection of Stapleton songs, this time recorded by Stapleton himself, with the release of Traveller on May 5.
